Information collected and used by 575by17.net
575by17.net requires users to submit their name and a valid email address as part of the membership process. Members may create a profile comprising a nickname and image, neither of which needs to be personally identifying. Members choose this information themselves, can modify or remove it at any time and also select the level of invitations from other members (from no-one to anyone). Disclosure of identifying information is not required to participate fully in the 575by17 experiences and members are encouraged not to do so.
Non-members (visitors) can only play the demo game(s) anonymously and are unable to interact with any other players.
575by17.net also logs non-personally identifiable information including IP address, aggregate user data, and browser type, from members and visitors. These data are used to manage the website, track usage and improve services.
We may also use a user's email address to contact them about 575by17.net services. These email addresses will NEVER be provided to third parties.
Invitations and other communications to non-members
575by17 members can invite friends to join by sending invitations via our automated invitation system. 575by17.net stores the email addresses that members provide so that the respondents may be added to the friend's list of the member sending the invitations, and also to send reminders of the invitations. 575by17.net does not sell these email addresses or use them to send any other communication besides invitations.
Individuals may prevent 575by17.net email invitations and other messages from being sent to any email address they control by sending a single email with the subject "BLOCK" to privacy@575by17.net. The email must come from the account they wish to block.
No use of cookies
575by17.net does NOT use cookies. Cookies may be set by Google in the delivery of contextual advertising and such deployment will abide by Google privacy policies (as is the case for a very large number of websites).
Security
575by17.net member accounts are created with an automatically generated password, which members are encouraged to then change to one they have created themselves. 575by17.net takes precautions to ensure that member account information is kept private. We use reasonable measures to protect member information that is stored within our database, and we restrict access to member information to those employees who need access to perform their job functions.
Sharing and disclosure of information 575by17.net collects:
575by17.net will not disclose personal information to any third party unless we believe that disclosure is necessary to:
- Conform to legal requirements or to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other legal process received by 575by17.net, whether or not a response is required by applicable law;
- Enforce the 575by17.net terms of use agreement or to protect our rights; or
- Protect the safety of members of the public and users of the service.
575by17.net reserves the right to transfer user-provided information to a successor in interest that acquires rights to that information as a result of the sale of part or all of 575by17.net. For more information see the "changes in our privacy policy" section below.
Changes in our Privacy Policy
From time to time we may make changes to our privacy policy. If we make changes, we will post them on our site to make users aware of what the changes are so users will always be aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and when we may disclose it. A user is bound by any minor changes to the policy when she/he uses the site after those changes have been posted. If, however, we are going to use user information in a manner materially different to that stated at the time of collection, we will notify users by posting a notice on our website for 30 days.
